January 26, 2010 Discover Life At Kates Cabin On Rainbow Creek, A Bird Sanctuary in Waller County, Texas, USA, Earth

SURPRISE VISITOR At Kates Cabin on Rainbow Creek!
You have arrived at the page of brendasue watson.
I have opened the Bird Sanctuary here on Rainbow Creek to Everyone in the World
.

So Please come in to our World Nature Class and Photography Ideas. I hope to inspire you to get your camera and go outside to see what you can see! We are learning about the lives of other living things that live on Rainbow Creek. I am writing a page of this book everyday for Kate, my Granddaughter. So come be part of my story in the woods!
I believe Kay Lonnie is on the roof waiting for us, so let's go up.

Hi Kay Lonnie, we are coming. What do you mean hurry up? (Sorry class, it appears she has a pressing engagement with some yummies downstairs).

All right, Kay Lonnie, we are ready. Give the signal for class to begin!

Good Girl. Let the Class Begin.

Thanks, Kay Lonnie, now go get your yummies!

Above is the birth tree of Little Rambo, a Red Shouldered Hawk. He was born here last spring in this very tree above Kates Cabin. He flew off late last summer, but has remained in the area around Rainbow Creek. He hunts the creek so I hear him when he comes through.

But today is different. He is sitting in his birthtree calling out to another bird.

Our Photostudy today will be about this hawk named Little Rambo. We watched each other everyday when he was in the nest. He has come home today to bring me something to see.

Here you see 2 tails! Little Rambo has a girlfriend!

He is very proud to show her off to me.

She is beautiful, but very camera shy. (Unlike hammy rammy).

She is lighter color than he is.

Look at this Boy! Can you tell he is in love?

Told you he was a big ham for the camera! (Most of these birds do not go around humans).

Now he is starting what I call his air bath. He puffs up all his feathers and cleans them over and over!

Yes, I am talking about you, Little Rambo!

Above you can see him to the left of center.

This is how the trees look from the swing down here. Rambo is in the right tree, but very hard dot to see.

Can you see him now?

As you can see by what I am doing, moving the camera in and out of zoom.

This is his goofball look!

The old Puffball.

He just got through scratching his head with that foot.

Now he is crying for the girlfriend who flew off while he fell asleep!

He is looking for her.

You are so handsome, Little Rambo!

Thank you for spending the morning with us-Good to see you.

This concludes our nature study class for today. Come back and see what is going on next at the cabin.

Goodnite Kate and goodnite King.
Good night to Everyone Everywhere...........................this is brendasue signing off from Rainbow Creek. I'll be seeing you!
