CAMP CABIN IN THE TEXAS WOODS AVAILABLE SOON

GREETINGS TO THE WORLD!  COME ON IN.

Five Pear Trees popped today. It is warming up during the daylight, but once the sun goes down, it is still cold.

Let the Class Begin! (Casper said it was his turn to give the signal)

I walked out to the street this morning looking at the sunrise. I glanced across and noticed something on top of that big tree in the center of pic.  (Once you have started watching birds for awhile, you will find you are always looking up!)

I knew right away who it was and went to get my camera even though it as still a bit early to shoot.
I want you to notice how this bird blends into the tree top.  He is hidden away watching everything below.
We will see if you know who he is yet after hanging out in my class!

The rays of the rising sun just barely glance his darkness.

He is so 'kingly' and has confided to me that he feels he should replace the bald eagle as America's mascot.

Good Morning up there on your lofty perch!

Where are you?

Well, there he is.  I opened my arms outstretched to him (because that is what some Indian guy told me to do if I wanted to learn to communicate with these birds).  Anyway, I opened my arms as if I had wings.

And he opened his wings to me as if he had arms.

And he called out to me.

Then he moves facing left and turns back to facing right.  So I do the same thing from side to side.  (It is really a good thing there are no cars on this street. What would people think if they saw a nutty old lady standing in the street dancing with a bird that is dancing on top of a tree?  Well, they would think I was nuts. But that is what I am doing.)

And as you can see in these photos, that is what he is doing also. There are no other birds in sight, and there are no other people either (thank goodness).

It feels good that he is communicating with me. It is great that he is not afraid of me.

This is a very large bird and I really like him.  Yet I do not want him to try to come land on me. We have a good thing going from a distance!

Has anybody ever had a bird do this display to them?  Maybe I am a nut. But the old Indian guy was right.

I can hear my photographer friends yelling I should have used a off camera flash! But I like the way the morning sun glances off of the wing tips.

What a great morning.

What a great Earth.

What a great bird.  Thank you, King Buzz! (You knew it already, didn't you?)

And with that he is off for a hunt with his winged friends  See you tonight when you get home to the tall pines.
This concludes our photostudy for today on waking up with the King!

Goodnight King and Goodnight Kate,

Goodnight Everyone, Everywhere. I wish for all my new friends around the earth that we find a better way to make it a better day tomorrow. Get your camera. Shoot your space and share your place!  Or at least feed a bird today!

Okay Class, let's get back to Rainbow Creek and our Love Story for Valentine's Day!
You would not believe the buzz that is going on around the bird sanctuary today.

The bees are buzzing high and low telling eveything they know!

All the insects are broadcasting the news like little radio transmitters!

This one has only one wire up, but he is getting the message.

Of course this guy says: The one who sees all, knows all!

These two are discussing what they are going to do about the situation.

And this one just let the cat out of the bag! "Notice to Rainbow Creek, the baby Hawks have hatched out of their eggshell and are now 6 days old." They have never been seen before today.

The doves are headed for deep cover in the woods.

The water birds are spreading the news up and down the creek!

The woodpeckers are spreading the news like a machine gun on the tree.

No, we do not like hawks!

Hawk Babies? "This news is really messing up my lunch"

This news really makes me mad!

Hawks! Did you say Hawks are here?

I bet those babies are cute little tasty things!

Can anyone please tell me if it is a chicken hawk?

Well if it isn't the cat that got out of the bag. What are you thinking? "Are you kidding me, I am thinking about that fat butt chicken."

I am praying to loose some weight as I hear they like fat squirrels.

I am a little scared as I don't know what a Hawk is.

You better start praying is all I have to say. Grandma Poppy names us all Casper, the friendly squirrel. That is because we all disappear like Casper the friendly ghost!

Enough Said. I am so outta here, dude.

Elisabeth perked up her ears to see what all the noise was about.

Hey, Wait up, Casper, I am right behind you.

Mr. Whiskers was having a sweet snack.

What the Heck? A Hawk? This is the worst news of my life. Wait up Casper.

Here is Mamahawk and she appears to be really tearing it up!

She is a little dumb-founded by Motherhawkhood.

Look! There he is! There is the little baby Hawk! Hello Little One!

Look at that tiny little guy! His Mom is so Big!

She is giving him a chunk of meat. He looks like a white ball of fuzz!

I think I will name him Little Rambo of Rainbow Creek!

Look! There is another one! Look how gently that big Mom gives the little ones a piece of meat!
I will name the other one the littlest Angel.

Hey Little Rambo! Welcome to the World. This is Rainbow Creek and it will be your home!

Everybody had to see the new babies. There were flybys all afternoon to look into the nest!
Here the Whistle Ducks are flying by.

King Buzz is flying by. Excuse me class, I need to take this call. (It is the President, (again)).
Yessir, the baby hawks have hatched and we are seeing them today for the first time.
Sir, can you see inside the nest with your super zoom lense?
response: I see the baby hawks.

I have Air Force One sighted, Sir. Thank you, Mr. President, for doing a fly by over the bird sanctuary to make sure we are all right. We appreciate your dedication to birds and red dogs.

Look, Sir, Little Rambo is waving at you!
response: Hello Little Rambo

Here is Mamahawk taking 5. She looks a bit bewildered by the events of the day.
Well how about that class. The President of the United States calling to see how our nature class is doing and to welcome Little Rambo to Earth. (Now I know he thinks he has a hard job up there at the Capitol, but really he should try running the bird sanctuary for just one day. He would probably see things a little different after that. But I try to do my part.)
I just did not know he liked Birds so much. There was nothing of this nature mentioned during the campaign. We better just keep this quiet. If word of the bird gets out, it could another scandal for the President that he was not perfectly clear on his position of Birds and Red Hound Dogs. I guess it is widely known that he has alot of friends who are buzzards!
There you go, so do I.

Well Goodnight King and Goodnight Kate; Goodnight to Everyone, Everywhere.
And Goodnight Mr. President, thanks for flying by.
Happy Valentine's Day Everybody
