Shutterbugs: Grab Your Cameras and Go Catch Some Flying Nature if You Can

Welcome Everbody to Our World Nature Class
Comw On In!

Above is a Swallowtail Black Butterfly having a drink of nectar from a mimosa flower blooming now in Teaxs
As You know by now, we are having our Classes here on Rainbow Creek, a small, but significant beginning, for observing wild life.
(not the wild life of humans, rather other living things)
I would like to encourage you all to take and post Photos of Nature. You must enjoy what I display as you keep coming back for anther visit. (thank you!)

This is a lily flower from bulb. I got you a close up of the pollen encrusted anthers and the one pistol.
The flower is bright and (was) beautiful to attract a flying passerby who hopefully will walk around on these flower parts and pollinate. These bulbs bloom in May.
After the seed pods are formed, the plant goes to rest for a long winter's nap and returns again next Spring!

I have a funny thought in my head: What if us girls had to dress in bright colored clothing,  & spray on lots of perfume.
When the husband arrives home and comes through the door:  "Honey, I am Home!";
the wife runs to greet him, throws herself on the floor and screams:  Honey please walk on me, walk on me, walk on me. How about:  Yes, that feels Great, Walk on me some more!)

Enough Nonsense,  Let The Class Begin!!!
Thank you baby hawk

Look at how large they are getting.

These photos occured at sunset, therefore you can see the white downy feathers in th glow.

Hi Everybody,  Can you see my new Wing?   Do Humans have wings?

Here we are at the front gate of Kate's Cabin.  And across the street is the 'Hole in the Wall"
Our Photostudy today is on the Hole in the Sky.  Enjoy

A PHOTOGRAPHER'S DREAM--COME TO OUR WORLD NATURE CLASS AND SEE!

Hi Everybody in the World!
I missed you over the weekend but what a time I had with Kate. We had a great weekend with the kids. Kate's Mom is going to have another baby in May! Crandma Poppy again!  Then, my son & his wife announced they also where having a Grandma Poppy Grandbaby. We are truly blessed by these life events,
but I realize the Cabin is not big enough!

We are heading up to the rooftop deck where we usually have our class in nice weather. Kay Lonnie, (our star redbone hound), gives the open Class signal.

There is Kay Lonnie now, with the little king, waiting on us to get up there.

Here is Sissy offering Kay Lonnie a big kiss!

Kay Lonnie shakes her head NO- NO- NO.  Alright Kay, Let's get this class open.

Well who is this Little Bird flying in?

It is Katebird!

Let the Class Begin!  Thank you Kate and I love you.

Our photostudy today is going to be about this little red shouldered hawk-Little Rambo. He is building a nest in the pine tree next to this tree you see.

Enjoy the surprise in the photostudy today!

BIRD SANCTUARY IN TEXAS HAS NEW BIRDS MOVING IN EVERYDAY!

BIRDS-BIRDS-BIRDS-BIRDS-BIRDS-BIRDS
WHERE ARE THEY ALL COMING FROM??

Welcome Class To The First Day Of The Rest Of Our Life.
Bird is the Word around Kates Cabin. I guess they are telling their friends that some crazy old Lady is putting out free food and everyone is invited because so many new birds are coming. For a very small private Bird Sanctuary it would seem unnecessary to hire an Air Traffic Controller, yet that is a possibility if these birds keep coming in.

Spring is in the Air and buds are popping out everywhere. Ten points to the one that can Name That Bud.

Well here is Kay Lonnie Wray (aka Miss America) waiting to open our Class. Looks like she might have a little spring fever going on as she is not too excited about the class today.  Kay, would you give the signal please.

Get On With It.
Kay Lonnie, What kind of signal is a half yawn get on with it?
I could find more Enthusiasm in a Silly Goose, what is wrong with you? "Just go get a stupid Goose."
Where am I going to get a silly Goose?

Let the Class Begin!   Well, thank you, silly goose, you flew in just in time!

Now That is How you start a Class.

Whatever, stupid Goose, where did you come from? Mars?

Moving on to our Photostudy for today, we find that Spring is in the Air and the Tree.
Here is Little Rambo (a Red Shouldered Hawk), who has been making his nest up here in this Pine Tree to try to win the affection of a new girl he brought home to Rainbow Creek a couple of weeks ago. It is larger than it was 2 days ago.

Now he has robbed all the squirrel nests of building materials as he is to lazy to get his own.
So the squirrels are busy either remodeling or moving on out. Rambo is longing for his girl.

I haven't seen the other one today. I am not sure if Rambo is a boy, but if he is, then it is He who built the nest. She came in and looked at it and sat down for awhile, but apparently she has not laid eggs yet as they both are still flying away.

He is looking through me!  See his red shoulder?

What a Fine Bird Little Rambo is. His nest still looks a little holy on the left.

Wow, he is Looking and Looking for that girlfriend

Come Out, Come Out, wherever You are.

Where did my Love Go?

Look Class, There she is!  Just flew into the nest with Rambo.

She appears to be giving him a little kiss! Yes, I would say these are Lovebirds.
This concludes our photostudy of Rambo's Nest.

Goodnight to Rambo & his new Girl.  Goodnight King and Goodnight Kate.

Goodnight to Everyone in the Whole Wide World.
