Come in and Warm Up! Fire is Ready! by: brendasue

Welcome Friends.  Tonight we are heading to Bluebonnet Herb Farms for a Photography Meeting with the Waller Photography Club.  Vince Yokum and John Kleb began the Waller Photo Club last year.  I have learned many things from these guys and it will be good to see them again. (They have both been Professional Photographers for years and we are lucky to have them in this community sharing their knowledge with all).

The meeting is at 6:30 so it will just be sunset and getting dark. We are having an impromptu photoshoot in this fading light of day. Some were working with their flash. Some had off camera flashes.
Some (like me) just shot in natural light no, flash. We all watched each other and learned as the photoshoot went on.

Bluebonnet Herb Farm looks Fantastic thanks to Linda Wood and her staff. Flowers are blooming all over the place. The smell of the Almond Verbena is Heaven.  Little Garden Twinkling Lights lit the Garden Paths that meandered across the front roses and into the pergola (where the herbs are), through the gazebo with the gingers, beyond the sculptured metal Garden Gate, over the bridge and around to the deck in the back that overlooks the dry rock creek and flagstone patio.  It is here at this point, where we find the chimanea with a little fire to take the chill off those who come close!  (It is great that Linda owns the Bluebonnet Landscaping Company that did all this beautiful work of Linda's Vision.  It is Spectacular!)

Linda had a table set up with waters and wine, chips and dips. We all shot whatever we wanted to shoot. It was interesting to me to see what others wanted to shoot. (They have all been shooting much longer than I have, but I practice alot!) John Kleb was on his hands and knees under a little bridge setting up a remote flash that went off when he shot the dry creekbed. Ted and a few others were taken with the baby kittens that came from somewhere!  I was standing in front of the little fire shooting it. (Of course all the guys looked at me like I was nuts!)  It was my first fire of the fall season and it felt good with the new crisp coolness in the air.

Below is my photoshoot of the evening that will be our photostudy today. These pics were all snapped in a two hour time period at Bluebonnet Herb Farms:  Waller Photography Meeting & Photoshoot.  Focus in on the play of the light.     Enjoy!

  3. Hi Everybody in the Philippines!!
I am not sure which flower you are talking about.
The first small one in the header is a columbine.
The little purple one is a duranta. Then there is a red hibiscus and some pink roses.
Thanks for following me--I have many more flowers coming! Hello to All
