Look at this beautiful Iris that just popped open today.
Welcome Class, come on in, sit on the porch and watch the birds.
Above is the River Birch Tree, the last tree on the property to Pop and here he is today. All the trees are back now.
The River Birch is the tall thin tree to the right of center in the foreground of the frame. You can see all the other trees have returned for spring! This is the view from my rooftop looking over at Kates Cabin next door. We did this shot a couple of months ago and could see the cabin. It is more difficult to see the cabin clearly now through all the trees.

I haven't seen this guy since last year. 'He's Back!'
The blue birdfeeder is the feeding station over here by the front gate to my cabin. I wanted you to see how great the flowers still look today.
The name of this Flower is: Formosa
And here is a black and white bee having a snack.
This is the Double White Rose blooming off the cabin porch.
This is Casper by the rosebush, staying safe from the little King.
Update on Rambo, our nesting red shouldered hawk:
Here she is on nest pulling out her stomach feathers to line the nest to keep the babies warm.
She is definately looking at something. (I can not see chicks yet).
What a proud Mom Rambo is becoming.
Our short photostudy today will be on this Iris.
When the plant has leaves that begin to crinkle, they will bloom.
Here you can see the crinkles in the leaves.
Sometimes, you just get lucky!

When I was a little girl, I was taught a stupid song about picking up paw paws and putting them in your pocket. I never knew what a paw paw was. A couple of years ago, I found two little paw paw trees and planted them here at Kates.
Introducing here today, another first for me: The bloom of the paw paw tree!
Here you can see a little paw paw. It is the (edible) fruit of this tree.
(Still a stupid song, when it took almost 60 years to personally see a paw paw!)
Poor old crippled Kay Lonnie feels her rights as a being on this planet have been violated.
She thought she was a superstar. She is so sad that I told her she could dismiss the class today.
